Default Care for the elderly in spain

Can anyone help me with my question? My father has been a resident in Spain for 15 years and lives with his partner. He has no assets as the property is in her name. He is suffering from dementia and his partner can no longer cope with looking after him. Returning to the UK is not an option. Is he entitled to any care home facilities under the Spanish health care system. He is 75 years old. We do not know what to do to help him? Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank You

Like the previous poster asked, why is returning tithe UK not an option?
I think your father would be better off in the UK
Of course, whether he is eligible for free care depends on his savings and assets.
There are retirement villages where British people live, but they are very expensive, and your father needs specialist care.
As yet, there is much less choice in suitable homes for people with dementia in Spain
He would feel very isolated in a home where the majority would be Spanish people, and even more so if not fluent in Spanish
He could have care in the home, at a price, and may be vulnerable to being exploited by unscrupulous unregistered individuals.
It maybe worth contacting your local social security office to see if any other help is available , but overall your father would get more help in the UK.

Depending on where he lives there may be help from local charities. If he is fully registered in Spain then the local social services may be able to give some help.
Best bet would be to contact Age Concern España. INFOLINE | Age Concern España
