To answer the mystery of the red letters - when I checked my post on the forum, at first the letters which had been highlighted in the spellcheck were still red, which looked a bit odd. A few minutes later, after I had done my second post apologising for the red letters, they had disappeared - making me look like a complete idiot!!

We are off on Monday to seek a new boardband service
, at the momnet we have Dial up with Telefonica
I reallyhope when the time comes for us to cancel with Telefonica it all goe smoothly. Some how I don't hold out much hope, it took nearly 9 months to get our radiophone from them and that was ringing them day in day out. Oh well, we'll see what happens next week.

**I need advice with this please??**
After a lot of thinking we have decided to stay in Spain now, until things get better in the UK and then we will weigh up our options then.
Anyway ease finances we have found a really nice apartment to rent much cheaper than what we are in right now through a friend of a friend. Iam currently with Telefonica and have ADSL 3mb connection. The owner of the new apartment I will be moving into next month also has ADSL with Telefonica but told me he was going to move the connection with Telefonica when I move in and when he moves in with his girlfriend so he can keep the same number.
I phoned telefonica and they quoted me 50 euros to move my line and ADSL and I get to keep the same number (not important)
Anyway my quiery is, Vodafone are doing some good deals now with double broadband speeds and a plush WIFI router for the same 39.99 price so do you think it could be a good idea to cancel my telefonica contract that ive had for years for a new better deal with VODAFONE?
I guess I would have to pay Telefonica to switch on a phone line in the new apartment. I would get a new landline number but im not bothered about that and then when they have done that Vodafone would give me a new contract for a better deal and a spanking new WIFI router cos Im a new customer.
What shall I do? Stay with telefonica or go with vodafone?
The only thing im worried about is that sometimes other providers wont give u ADSL because telefonica wont let them or make it difficult.
Im not sure if this is true.
Thoughts??

Phoned 1004 Wednesday and arranged for our phone to be disconnected on Friday 20th Feb, managed this after much confusion on Monday and Tuesday but that's another story.
No mention of forms or faxing just told me to go and cancel the DD and the phone/internet service will be disconnected on the 20th.
Wait to see what happens then will let you know on the 21st

It's a dongle until they instal your landline - after that you still keep the dongle but have to pay extra if you use it. I've just got one and they say the landline will take 4 or 5 weeks. The dongle works ok but its a bit slow, also it seems to stop you connecting to websites for an hour or two if you download anything hefty.

Ive decided to stick with Telefonica. My friend changed to vodafone after being promised he would get a much faster internet speed for the same money and although he did get a faster speed when installed it has since slowed right down . After phoning vodafone they told him telefonica were being awkward and wouldnt cancel the line(which was meant to be done by Vodafone)

Can anyone confirm if this is the correct postal address for Telefonica
Telefonica de Espana. S.A.,
Sociedad Unipersonal,
Gran Via 28
28013
MADRID
I got this from the bill (only address on there), I'm leaving nothing to chance after faxing the letter I am now going to post it.

OK we have done everything we can think of, we phoned and asked for the line to be cancelled, they said yes will do. We have faxed a letter to them confirming the telephone conversation and have prove of fax. We have posted the letter that we faxed, we have cancelled the direct debit via internet banking. We have been into our bank and informed them what we have done and they have flaged our account saying do not pay Telefonica home and internet payment. When I ring the old home number I get a message saying the number does not respond, but then we have taken down the digital radio mast so I'm not surprised. That's it now hopefully I too will have a good ending to this, we will just wait and see what happens in April when we the next bill is due.
