Does anyone have or know of any places that would store a classic campervan in or around mazarron.Obviously it would have to be secure and legitamate.We plan to stay at camping playa mazarron for a month or two each year but require somewhere to store the camper when we go back to uk.It is already left hand drive and would be spanish plated as soon as possible.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.Thanks

Hi Kevd,

Just a word of caution, rematriculation (replating) of a campervan is now fraught with problems. The Spanish authorities have clamped down and to pass an ITV (MOT) you may need to take the vehicle to either Madrid or Barcelona with costs in excess of 1,400€. You need a "certificate of European Conformity" to avoid this cost.

DXF could be wrong if it is an historical vehicle i.e. anything over 25 years old.
But you must get a good gestoria who knows about how to get the 'van plated with one of these special numbers.

Thanks for your replies.The van is a small vw campervan and is 35 years old so it would be an epic journey to even make it over .
I will consult what would be required to legally re-plate before anything else or it could be a complete non-starter.
It will be a real shame though as it was bought left-hand drive purposely .It is originally from California and purchased with a view to taking it over to Spain.
Ah well nothing is ever easy..........Thanks again.

At last i have found a storage facility near mazarron that stores caravans,campers ,boats etc.
I got their number from CAMPING PLAYA MAZARRON where we enjoyed staying in the past.
Its about 5km from the campsite.
