Hi can anyone tell me what they think of Calahonda as a place to live?
Also any info on Gran Calahonda apartments?
Also would I make a living from renting a small cafe/bar on the road side at Calahonda?

I guess as with everything it depends on where abouts you are planning to live. We have a house in Calahonda - in a small quiet urb. There are lots of facilities within walking distance - supermarket, golf, tennis, bars/restuarants etc - but they are also far enough away from us when you just want some peace and quite.
Also easy access to Fuengirola, Marbella, Gibraltar etc.

Some parts are good, some bad, same as everywhere.
Forget about making a living with a bar, if you want to end up with 50,000 this year, then bring over 100,000.

I spent a week in gran calahonda apts earlier this year.
It was a quiet time so not many holiday makers there .,it does have some permanent residents.
I found it well maintained,it has a gated entrance ,sometimes manned, that needs security code or remote control and i felt safe there. It has underground garaging worked by remote controls. It has a couple of pools.
There is a new supermarket opposite ,1 minute walk away, and it's 5 minutes walk to the El Zoco centre.
In short,it's a good area to be based in,plenty of people wandering about in the summer but I can't comment on the success of another bar.
I'm rebooking the apt twice again later in the year.
I've never done that before.
hope this helps.
