Hi, have been told that Benidorm is a good place to go in the winter for shopping as there is a massive shopping centre there and we need a TV And single bed. Is this true?

I'd have to believe that, because there are large shopping centres in just about any medium-major metropolitan area. But Benidorm would be the choice if speaking English is an absolute necessity.

I can't speak for that area, but here in Mallorca, most things specifically targeted at British expats (e.g., announcing they speak English) are usually significantly more expensive than the Spanish store next door.

I would have thought Alicante was a better bet.

But seriously, give us a clue where you are and you'll get better advice.

i do live in kent mike j but i have a place in Oliva. wanted to know of a good place to go to get these and a washing machine now!!

I would have thought that Gandia would be the best place for you to shop. Carrefour and Media Markt are very close together so you can go from one to the other to compare prices of electrical items. There are a lot of smaller furniture shops around the town too so you should find what you want fairly easily.

There is an electrical store on the n332 on the right south out of town. There are also a few shops in the town itself.
The big advantage is they deliver and fit white goods in the price unlike Carrefour and mediamarkt.
There are also a couple of bed shops.

I forgot that they do not deliver and install. For those sorts of items I normally buy from Tien 21, mainly because I have one in my town but also because they tend to deliver and install immediately.
