Although there is no obvious date on the plates, when you come to sell it, especially if you part exchange it, the value will be based on the book price (Spanish Glasses Guide) and they will use the year of registration.

If you are not desperate to have the latest model look for the new model launch dates and buy the "last" of the previous specification. All dealers push them out with discounts to clear them . Worked perfectly for me a few years ago with Ford and the changes made to their Mondeo.
