Default buying and moving to spain

Help, just wondering how long paperwork takes to go through, I have bought a property in Spain, but awaiting for all paperwork to be accepted. Just wondering how long this process takes. Thanks

In our case, it was the same day as the appointment with the Notary :-)

When you say ' We have bought' does this mean that you have been to the Notary with the seller, handed over money and received the keys or that you have said 'We will buy it? - the two things are totally different!

Ours took exactly one month from viewing to completion and keys being handed over.

Good point. We agreed a price for our property in December and immediately instructed a solicitor. We completed and got the keys the following March. But our seller was rather awkward, and our solicitor was very slow in responding to anything we or the agent sent him. It could have been quicker.

We agreed sale in early August, and picked up keys in mid October. But that was our choice, we could have had them sooner if had wished. It just coincided with our holidays.

Hi Rosemary,
Wondering if you used a notary or solicitor for the transaction?

As stated in an earlier post our purchase took around 4 weeks. Yours does seem a long time but without knowing the full circumstances it is difficult to comment. What has your solicitor said as there must be a reason(s) for the delay.
