In some of the sub saharan african states a UN peace keeping force is protecting innocent civilians from marauding mobs killing women and children.
The women and children being protected are muslim and the killers are so called christians.
Religion is the root cause not the faith of the parties involved.
To remove religion from schools in the UK the law would have to be changed so that the C of E is no longer the so called established church in England, the church of Scotland, the chursh of Ireland etc,
This is never going to happen.
Any debate on Non Faith schools however sensible that is would be is pointless.

I totally agree with you.

I know that Muslims on an individuals are just like the rest of us, some good, some bad.

But Islam, as a religion in my opinion, sucks, and causes so many problems in the world, for Muslims and non Muslims alike.

What has that got do do with the subject of non faith schools.
If you want to ban one because you do not like the way they think or behave then you have to ban them all.
A so called christian who chops up a child is no different to a muslim who does the same.
Religion is used as an excuse to hide the evil that is within mankind.
The Nazis and Stalins regimes were non religious but they are responsible for tens of millions of more deaths and brutality than any so called religious group in the last 100 years or so.

That exactly it, they cause problems for both Muslims and non Muslims. I't's partly due to the fact that one of the basic premises of their religion is that we should all be muslims eventually, its one of the religions that really believe in proselytising their faith.

IT's kind of funny in a way, they do this (proselytising) in the UK (generally a Nation of animal lovers) and tell us we should all dislike dogs especially Black ones LOL you couldn't make it up if you tried

I believe they should be banned for many reasons. The main reason of course being that children are just that, children who are vulnerable to an olders teachings...rightly or wrongly.
It indoctrinates young minds to accept some quite ludicrous propositions without actually questioning them.
Is it reasonable to teach a child a political ideology without teaching the alternatives to that ideology?
Are children attending a Catholic school actually Catholic? Or are they just children?
Then we have segragation which in itself fuels fear and racisim.
And last but not least, I´m not sure I´d be happy leaving my child alone for too long with a Catholic priest????
I will not put here my own religious views but I believe a "faith" can only be found through the clear thinking of an adult mind.

I rarely respond to you as I am convinced you are just a troll but I think if you take all recorded history, then religion (Islam Christainity etc) has over the centuries certainly killed a lot more people than Hitler or Stalin.

The Islamic conquest of India from 100 Ad to 1500 ad is supposed to have cost the lives of 100 Millions indians

I have explained why I think Islam sucks, maybe you could explain why you think it rocks.

You won't hear a word said against is brutal, misogynist practices, without bringing some irrelevant historical event, or complete crap into the argument.

Would you care to comment on the topic, which currently is Faith schools and their role in a modern secular society.
