Hi, does anyone know how to get breakdown cover for a UK registered car from Spain to UK?
No one in the UK will do it that I have found as the journey has to originate in the UK

Failing that, here's a rather novel idea:
Get a Spanish-registered car... (?)

Yes it is fully legal and no, no one will insure it as you suggest as the journey does not originate in the UK

Well, with all due respect, the purpose for these limitations is to prevent residents from avoiding local road tax by registering their cars elsewhere.
Now, if you aren't a tourist (a resident) and are driving a UK plated car, then you already know there are a lot of complications with that, this being just one more example.
If you ARE a tourist, then your journey most likely began in the UK anyway.

Hi
I accept that your UK registered car is still legal in Spain (having been out of the UK for less than 6 months) and that you are mainly UK based but holiday for "long periods of less than 180 days here
So your journey began some time ago in the UK; without insurance. Any insurance company would think "Hmmm didn´t want it on the way out therefore something has happened and they know it won´t make it back - hence No ta"

My guess is that all you can do is to drive it back without breakdown cover, or just geet rid of it and sell it in Spain.

Look at ADAC 's site. They are a German company cover whole of Europe. I am thinking of using them myself.

Every time there is a car thread it turns into a argument, and the same people, Why cant people just answer the question ?
If you want to drive it back only you can get temporary cover from any of the big boys, I think they have a 2 day clause where you cant claim.

I believe the question was answered. But perhaps it wasn't the answer that the OP wanted to hear.
