Default Birdsong

Just watched the second and last part of this on BBC. Thought it was very good. Book was better though....one for you Rosemary. Written by Sebastian Faulks, all his books are good. It's a tale of love and war.

Saw some of the second part last night as well, and like you, read the book years ago but couldn't remember much about it. Thought the programme was OK, but then the missus says I don't do romance! Probably didn't see enough to make a valued judgement.

The follow up book is good too, Charlotte Grey. Takes place in WW2. A good topical one is "One week in December". About a hedge fund manager and others.

As critical as I was in the tongue in cheek letter to the DG of the BBC, Last nights second episode of 'Birdsong' was a spectacular piece of production to surpass episode 1.....I wasn't going to watch it but my missus persuaded me to...I'm glad she did as it was the BBC at its finest in drama...
