as a former long distance cyclist (in the UK) may I suggest false economy.
the tyres should be changed now if needed "soonish". I am sure that even at your tender age you don't need an oldy like me to tell you about the thickness of the tyre protecting the tube.

the sign says 20%. He ran out of time to get it done I think and was kind enough to point out things that needed done. He was concerned when he knew where I lived at other end of town and up the hill !The cobbles will play havoc with them fairly quickly I think.
