Benidorm move?
#16

Thanks for all the help so far. We fly out from leeds/Bradford on March 15th so have plenty of time to get our plan in place. Is March when business starts picking up?? I think we will probably go with paying a month's holiday type accommodation and then trying to find somewhere for the longer term once we arrive. Looks as though we're going to relax and enjoy our first week before searching for work after that.
I'm regards to some coments, we are aware that a lot of the jobs don't pay much but taking into account the cheaper cost of living we think we could live comfortably enough.

Hello to both of you, I live in Benidorm and can tell you with certainty that jobs are very scarce at the moment. Your best bet is to have an extended holiday over here and check everything out.
Any openings in the job market is usually filled by relatives or friends. There are not many bars or restaurants that will employ you "on the black" most will expect to see an NIE at least. Pay is very low indeed which would not be enough to cover the cost of rent etc. Spanish bars will expect you to speak fluent Spanish.
2 bed apartments are around €400 plus utilities. They will want a month down payment plus a month. You can't negotiate the prices as there's a queue for long/short term rentals.
Dont forget the 90 and 183 day rules for registering with the authorities and tax office.
Benidorm is a great place to be when you have a good job or plenty of cash. Many dreams have been shattered by not checking things out .
best of luck lads, give it a go
