Unfortunately the Spanish are no better than the British when it comes to employing foreign workers... Our daughter spent a year in Sevilla at University there as part of her UK degree. She and her friends used to visit the same ice-cream bar every night and got really friendly with the guy who owned it. One day there was a sign (in Spanish) saying 'waiting staff needed' and one of her friends asked the owner if he could have the job... he was fluent to degree level in Spanish and also spoke French to A-level, plus English as his native language, with experience of bar work back in UK. Owner turned round and said (in Spanish) 'Why should I employ you when there are so many Spaniards needing a job?' But of course, things may be different in Benidorm as there are so many English living there and also owning businesses. Hope you get a chance to try for your dream

You've been given plenty of advice and very helpful information. Why don't you just come to Benidorm and find out for yourself instead of moaning.

As I've said before, I live in Benidorm and as of now bars and restaurants are winding down for the low season and shedding the working staff.

What kind of help do you need, what are your expectations and why Benidorm? If you are just looking for sun and time on the beach, I wouldn't advise a 20 year old to move to Benidorm.

Gain skills, work hard in the UK for a year and use the money you've saved for holidays in Benidorm.

Let me translate for you. If you can't find work working for a British citizen living in Spain, a Spanish business owner is very unlikely to hire you even if you have fluent Spanish.

In short, the opportunities for you to have much of a job in Spain, especially if you need to work for 12 months of the year, will be very limited, if indeed they exist at all.
