I have railed against the high negativity attitude on BE Spain before, there is no talk of children, cats or dogs with paternity rights or education. If the individual wants to take a punt and give it a try then let them, with a little bit of help and support from the Forum, instead of the negativity.
Perhaps we could one day be able to say we actually helped someone.

as for this particular poster, if you look at his other post, you get an idea of his concerns and plans.

please let me be the one to apologise if I have come on too strong, your post just gave me an opportunity to have a rant about the BES famed negativity to those who see newcomers as a threat to their paradise.
yes, float testing - the wonder of modern seafaring, and the BH wonders why i don't like throwing things out, lost a very useful set of keys that way.

Fred, I found you to be, as usual, practical.

I however did solve the problem of it being the useful stuff that sinks in the " Flotation test" I learnt to dive

spent hours watching his films without realising until much later on he actually invented the blooming things.
so is there much opportunity for someone to come into Spain and make decent money out of diving ?
friend of mine recently went down to the sunken American warships in the Pacific - mind blowing he said.

Also it's debatable how much Jack invented although he was responsible for a lot of the market growth
Chances of making any money in the tourist diving market are very slim, but it's a great life.

Back on topic please - this stuff about diving isn't going to help the OP.

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and wanted to know the experiences of the users in becoming self employed in Spain. I am hoping to relocate to Spain for about a year in January and I know there are not many jobs available at the moment which is why I wanted to register as a self employed person within the initial 90 days. I want to know how I would go about it and what is the bureacy like in Spain for this? What proof or documents will I need? I am going to be starting an internet business and wanted to show this as evidence of self employment plus accountant's letter - would this be sufficient to get the residency?
Any replies would be appreciated.

Do you mean that you will only live in Spain for a year, that is how I read your post?
If so would it really be worth breaking your SS payments in your home country?
If you do so, depending on when you come to Spain (Jan?) you will probably mess up 2 years contributions, ie part one year and part the next.

there are so many sources of information, some easy to find some hard, some up to date some not.
i have just found out from another part of BE that UK's HMRC have a "relaxation" or "routine" for those currently self-employed in the UK who are moving to self-employed in another EU country
