I would not worry about it, the City boys will still get their multimillion pound bonuses this Christmas.

At our expense :curse::curse::curse:

Yes, however at least one Spanish bank (Santander) & one UK (unfortunately can't remember the other; probably negotiating a tailgater on the A7 at the time) is involved with humungous losses as a result....

Years ago my grandfather never trusted banks and kept his money under the floor boards in a metal box. I can see those days making a revival

The real worry, as I think I have said before, is the exposure the Continental banks have to South America and Eastern Europe. They have been laughing all the way to the bank blaming the US, but many have huge exposure to South America, some of which are already defaulting. If Venezuela falls over -and with oil having dropped so far that has to be a real possibility, - it could be a blood bath

Until the US (or the world) institutes some draconian laws forcing banking / investment /government officials to keep their customers needs ahead of their own desires for gain we are lost.

Draconian meaning something akin to China- following any whiff of inpropriety take the bank president / examiner / congressman / stockbroker (or WTF...all 4) to the public square and shoot them, seize all their family's assets then charge their widow for the executioner's bullet

The title of this thread is absolutely correct.
The senior bankers should be hung upside down and shaken until their pockets are empty and then put away for twenty years. And not in some nice little day release scheme The money they reported as profits was fictitious.
Oh sorry, I forgot they did not realise/understand - can you imagine trying that one on the boys in blue yourself
