Anyone know what the blue and white round the big rocks and one some lampposts reading danger (in Spanish) on the river dead end road are all about, also the music I have heard all afternoon and evening ?

I did have a look at InfoAymonte but no clue I could see, thanks.

Must be some event coming up as now the big concrete blockade has been moved to the side ? any clues ?


Also there is music from o'er the water, is the summer music thing on again this year ?

Apparently a cycle race yesterday, I was hiding from the heat so never saw it. The music was from Monte Francisco area I think.

Monte Francisco is a 'happening place' and there are often weekend evening activities. Certainly now - as the season approaches. The resto/bar on the roundabout ('old Luis') has an English speaking manager that knows all the activities..... so whoever is there next - please ask and let us know the agenda.

We will go there in a few days time to find out too and will post if someone hasn't beaten us to it.

My guess is the Iberman II race over the weekend. You know, Val, all those hunks swimming across the river then cycling up north, across the bridge at Pomarao, then south via Castro Marim and VRSA.

The music? Well, perhaps something to do with a fiesta? Dos Santos Populares (Santo António, Sao Jao, Sao Pedro)?
