Has anyone had to do a Aval Bancario for a rental?

Up here in Asturias, it's seems to be the norm for when you rent here.

Anyway, we had our bank do one when we rented our house. It was for 6 months rental cost.

We have lived in this house for 8 months now and today, we get a phone call from the Agent saying that we have to do another one as the six months are up. ?????

We signed up for a year, and we thought that the Aval Bancario would just sit in our account till the year's up.

Can't give anymore information than this until husband sees the Agent on Monday and find out the full facts.

Perhaps its the bank who wants more money to extend the period ? Don't know really.

Any comments would be appreciated.
