I am astonished that a thread that raised some potentially serious issues was closed to discussion.
Question I would ask are
1) Is the "legal reasons" a confirmed statement by a competent authority
2) An open forum is an open forum (isnt it?)
3) The thread raised some interesting discussion points which needed to be amplified by the original poster
4) The items therein (Allegedly) requires some form of validation
5) The validation was unable to continue because of peremptory action
6) The subject matter I would think would be of great interest to the majority of members on this forum, as the issue is liable to happen to anyone.

On the one hand I agree with you, as it did raise some serious worrying issues. On the other hand as a forum "owner", and indeed a mod on other forums, you have to realise that the risk to forum owners is great in that they can have their @rses sued for leaving anything on a forum that might be open to legal action.
To be honest, if in doubt then the safest course of action is to take it off. Otherwise, if the parties in question have their attention drawn to the matter it can become quite difficult very quickly.
At the end of the day JDR is a mod here and its the forum owner that makes the rules and decides what he wants on here.

Would seem someone has had a bad experience of the Spanish legal system.
Personally I really don't see the issue, you're dead, you're dead? no use for any organ - or even a piano.
But I wouldn't wish to discuss the points of any individual case for fear of jeopardising the future of the forum.

I think the moderator acted properly given that he has to make decisions on such things and to err on the side of caution can only be seen as prudent.
My thoughts are as follows. By closing this subject is a precedent being set here?
Do we not throw open to discussion certain subjects which are not as savoury as others? Or, is it a statement by the forum that this is not a truly democratic discussion place and certain topics are subject to censorship?
It's a difficult one.

I have to say that the first reading of the thread took the wind out of my sails, but on reflection it is a subject of interest.

I support the removal of a thread that may contain unsavoury issues such as racial, religion etc or just plain bigoted.
However I firmly believe that in a case of interest such as this, that could be important to a lot of persons who just didnt know, should be able to inform, explain and explore the issues (NB not the individual case), would not be subject to any form of censure (legal). How can it be as it is only a process in the overall governing system of the state, and we should be able to discuss and within our democratic right challenge the PROCESSS on this or any other forum, but not any individual case.

I agree,, but the first step, IMV does a legal issue exist, or is this an opinion, (certainly the item could be removed pending some form of advice, that would at least put the forum onto a open and equal basis, with maybe a followup even if a negative at a later date)

I took it into my judgement that this could provoke possible legal implications and I believe this subject is not appropriate for this forum.
There is legisation in Spain that allows organs to be taken from the body unless you opt out.
Also please read rule twelve and discuss this by pm as requested.
I also feel the need to close this thread as it should not of been started in the first place.
