Apartment in Costa Esuri
Good morning!
I am in the process of looking at properties to buy in Costa Esuri, with a preference for the Rago type 2-bed apartments. I was initially interested in 2010, but subsequently got cold feet and backed out. My renewed interest has been sparked by hitting 50 and considering early retirement, as well as wanting to provide my mum with a holiday location where she could relax and meet other people. I have a couple of questions which I would be extremely grateful if anybody with a few minutes to spare could answer please:
(1) Is there an existing community for the over-70s (my mum isn't a golfer, but she is a very keen football fan)?
(2) Would local transport be available for my mum (i.e. to Ayamonte, the supermarket, the beach)? (I don't recall a bus service extending to Costa Esuri)
(3) Is is still advisable to buy a pre-owned apartment in a fully populated complex rather than a new build which may need some work in a less well populated complex?
(4) Have property prices increased since 2010, or continued to fall?
I appreciate my questions may not require simple yes/no responses, but would appreciate any help available.
Thank you very much for your time.
Jon

Hi Jon,
(1) I do not know about a community for the over 70s.
(2) There is a bus service, still limited, but should improve, quite soon.
(3) I would recommend Las Lomas, close to the shop, who is the socializing place in Esuri, or Vista Esuri and Marina Esuri, close to the Golf Club.
(4) Prices are still low but start to go up, so it is probably the best moment to buy as they will keep going up.
I collaborate with a real estate, i send you my details in PM, for amy request.
Regards,
Jean-Michel

At the moment the center of the community outside golf is the "shop" on Lomas which is at the top of the hill so if mum is fit she would find plenty of activity there especially if you lived on Lomas. The previous advice on property prices is sound.

At a guess I would estimate that more than half of the expat long termers are around 70 many couples include one golfer and one non golfer. There is a book club held in the golf club every Wednesday and there is a mosaic club there on Fridays. There is a residents associations which embraces new members. Is mum fit and does she like walking there are organised walks and informal walks.

Re: Apartment in Costa Esuri
It is worth noting that only Vista Esuri has working lifts in every block. All other apartment developments have a lift shaft but only one or two blocks have installed lifts. This has two aspects one it raises the community charge a downside and two it makes the block more attractive for rental to Scandanavian golfers who come south for the winter an upside.

I thought Vista apart the others had the lift shaft but had not commissioned a lift to operate in the shaft.
