I'm in jaen capital. Been here for ages but have been working with spanish people up till now. I know there are a few of us about.

We live in Ciudad Real (me and Spanish hubs).... been here a year, I love it! It´s so tranquil and friendly but not many `extranjeros´at all! We keep meaning to take a trip to Jaen as I haven´t been there yet and we´ve covered most of Castilla La Mancha now.

My husband is also Spanish. I've been living here for 7 years now, always in Jaen. Only ever visited Toledo and valdepeñas. So have you been living in Spain for more than just this year? Jaen is also friendly..never really any problems, although it can be a little boring at times!

We are near Martos, have been here nearly a year. Loving the area and the people and trying hard to learn the lingo...not very quickly though!
Were unfortunate enough to spend 6 months prior on the costa del golf and so happy when house purchase was complete.

Yes. Its a nice area and Martos very nice. Have you been to the Saturday market there? It's even better than the one in Jaen. Good luck with the Spanish. As you say at least the people are friendly and I think they appreciate you making the effort
