Nice one! You must be pretty familiar with Spain now then!
Different attitude to motorcycling out here isn't there? If people have a bike (irrespective of type) they all ride together.....whereas in Britain everybody keeps to their own little groups.

Hehe! Thanks. Familiar with Spain? Yeah but it continues to throw up a lump of shit from time to time still...... Love it though. Yes the bike scene is great.

We've got 4 bikes at the moment.. although only 2 work. (Oops). Better than before we moved out here and we had 10 bikes.
Don't get too excited though, they aren't fancy bikes or anything:
2 yamaha xs650s (one now on spanish plates - wooHOO!), a Honda NTV650 (which is the manky rat work bike), and a Triumph Bonneville hardtail chop.
The bike scene, we've found, (and maybe you could let us know differently!), is very Harley Biased. A lot of the rallies specify 'Harley or Indian only' so, of course, we don't go. Which is a shame. And the runs for the classic club I'm a member of - well, they all start at 7.30 on a sunday morning.. (!!!) I don't start at 7.30 on a sunday morning...!! hehe

Hi there, newbie to this forum and I was just wondering how many other expats there may be here who are motorcyclists? Perhaps we could list location with a view to organising the occasional meet for blasts and maybe bike types for interest.......?
I'll make a start with:
Rosas Catalunya as me location
Ducati 749
Suzuki GSR600
Honda 600 hornet

torie - 4 bikes and 2 work. Is that you alone or are you saying 4 bikers near Girona? If you have 4 how many others are there that you know about and are you in regular contact for rides etc?
KLF - the 748 remains legendary. I'm still trying to work out if I'm in love with my 749 (they're far from the same thing IMHO). Am still running it in at the moment and it has given me some inconvenience in a knackered battery which Moto expert in Figueres AND Girona refused to replace even though the bike was only 3 months old GRRRRRRRRR! Am going to give it a while longer to see how she performs at the first shag and if I'm still not enamelled then I'll be looking for a blade to replace. I hear the latest gixer is the dogs though??? Do you still have yours and where in YOUR world is MuMu land?

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your Duke. I fortunately never had a ny problems with any of them although the first one only lasted 3 days till some kind lady pulled out in front of me and the bike was written off. :curse:
Had to sell the gixer prior to emigrating, not worth the expense to ship it out to Brisbane. It was a K3 and was just a rocket in it's time until the Kawasaki brought out the ZX10. Love the new blade, got to be in black though.

If the 749 is the first twin you've owned it'll take a while to get used to it, it did me. In the early days I often thought did I really like it? I did.
Nice avatar mate, seems very familiar.

Thanx KLF - Is the white duster from my Royal Navy days. Username likewise..... You still in OZ then?
My issue with this Duke is riding position - feels awkward almost like my feet are ahead of my arse hehe! Maybe they are!

Are your wrists killing you yet.
It soon goes as they get used to it.
It is a more extreme riding position.

I know what you mean by the crusier market. We were out the first week in December and travelling to the airport on the last day we came across a 'pack' of em, must have been 15 bikes all line astern. All travelling at 55k per hour. Trouble was the road was long and straight and signed at 100k!!! How stupid is that? So just pulled out and screwed the rental car into the ground to make my pass
