Anti Virus!
 
My Bit Defender anti virus runs out in 3 days. Should I renew it (it has been ok) or should I go for another anti virus?

I have only one problem........my tower wont take discs. If I put a disc in then it shuts the screen down completely, so it will have to be something I can download if that is possible.

And so begins another debate about Anti Virus progs!!:rofl:
I suggest the easiest, quickest and cheapest option is to download AVG free when the other one runs out.
Then get someone to sort the pc out!

There are loads of AV progs out there, some are much better than others, some are dire. I did say that it was probably the easiest, quickest and cheapest option! It also doesn't slow the pc down too much.

Firstly.....lets's evaluate AVG!

That says it all! But in your case SD, just download the POS, uninstall ButtDefender, install AVG, and then bring the system to me when you come up.

Same goes for anybody else.....if you want your systems sorted when you're here just bring them with you!

Don't let Pete near your machine - when he's sorted it you'll have to kickstart it and sit astride it while you're on-line.

It might you take crap photos every 35 mins aswell.

AVG has worked perfectly for us for the last goodness knows how long whereas Norton/Symantec totally screwed stuff up, particularly our digital camera software and Zone Alarm was completely off the wall. Good Luck as this is a minefield at the best of times! :ohmy:

We had AVG for ages for free and then they got wise so changed all the numbers - was brill as well while we had it - we now have Avast - been on this for about 6 months i think - no problems that i know of :D

remember a few years ago when harry and wills were small who took them and Diana around the VIP area at the British Grand Prix Jackie Stewart, He is well known in Royal circles and his friendship :thumbup: with Anne has been going on for donkeys I mean you would never in a million years put those two together, But I assure you its true
now with regards the horse the reason there is no evidence in that regard is when Anne was charged with the offence the court hearing the case was on the third floor of the court building, however try as they may the prosecution barristers could not get that horse into the lift to get to the court room to give evidence :rofl::rofl:

I downloaded Avg last week and ever since when I turn my computer on in the morning a balloon pops up and says my computer is at risk!

Anyone know why this is happening?

It probably is telling you it needs updating, just open up the program and click update.

But I only installed it last week and it does a scan every morning at 11am. Its not Avg that is telling me my computer is at risk it is that little red shield with a white cross in it at the bottom right hand corner.

It might be windows firewall shut off.
Go to start, security center, make sure firewall is on.
