You are doing it the right way by having a trial period. When are you coming and how long will your trial period be?
Murcia region is a very large area and are you wanting to live on the costal area or inland?
You will get excellent advice on this forum if you could tell us a little more of what you want out of living here.
How old are you and do you speak any Spanish?

Re: Anne.leighton
thank you for your reply Steve,we are looking to be near the coastal area if possible ,but have a limited budget of 500 euros max to spend on monthly rent, we are moving to be in a warmer climate as the northeast of England does not do our arthritis any favours in winter. We are both in our sixties and speak very little spanish but willing to learn. We are hoping to come out in September for about 3 months but most places we've looked at are minimum of 6
The warmer climate will certainly help.
Have you had a look on the airbnb (or similar) for a 3 month rental. There should be plenty available at that time of year and you won't have to put deposits etc down. I imagine you could do a deal with the owners for a 3 month stay 🙄
I pay 500 euro per month for a 3 bed apartment in Benidorm.
Don't worry to much about not speaking Spanish, not many expats can very well!! It can be difficult to learn as we get older.
All the best, let us know how you get on.
Steve
