The hire and fire short term contracts were a piece of unbelieveable stupidity.
It meant that a whole tranche of the population had no financial security. So, they couldn't get mortgages, and didn't feel that they could spend money so freely.
Result? Those dumbass firms found that a lot of punters then couldn't afford their products. Duuuhhhh.
