Default Albir & Altea

hi all, just wondering if any of you a bit nearer to the albir and altea area have any recommendations about there.
i may have a possible flat share coming up, and dont really know too much about the place. living in valencia, i spend most of my 'coastal' time in denia, which i love, but this option in is albir.
is there a good sort of nightlife scene? i dont mean 4am nightclubs, but decent bars to socialise in and restaurants to go to? i've actually only been to albir a few times, so i sort of know the promenade, but havent really been in behind there. i do also enjoy a bit of sat afternoon footy watching, before nipping off to the local spanish tapas bar for some decent food!
i know benidorm is only around the corner, but i'd like a bit of local insider knowledge before considering a share in a town i dont know too much about.
thanks
DD

Plenty of social round here, also alot of dutch and norwiegan residents so a variety of people/bars. No "old town" in albir but beautiful Altea is just up the road.

Brit bars in Albir and Alfaz with Footie TV, or Benidorm is 5 mins away for more of a crowd. 15 mins to Carrefour and La Marina shopping center. We love it!

I have lived in Albir for the last two years out of three and OH and I love it here. Having said that we are in our 50s and it is just what we are looking for nice bars for a drink and nice restaurants and there are the english bars where you can see the footie etc. (I have to say we don't watch it at all). You can walk along the prom from Albir to Altea which is another lovely town. As said you are not too far from Benidorm if that is your taste also. Mikelincs has also recently moved here with his OH and they are also very happy. Any specific questions you want to know e-mail either of us.

thanks sue. you've really answered all i needed to know! i just really wanted to know if there was a few locals i would feel welcome in, to watch a bit of sport. still in my 40's but well past the clubbing/all night partying!
i've been down albir way a few times, we actually stayed in albir gardens when we were looking for property many years ago, but since then, its only been fleeting visits on the way past. i remember walking along the coast into altea and hitting a great japanese restaurant there.
as i said in my original post, i've spent most of my coastal time in denia, which i love, but this may be an opportunity worth looking into at this time of my life.
thanks, and if i need to ask anymore, i will!
