Sorry derbyflan (I don't like to contradict you ) but I was always told that it's not a good idea to use ordinary toothpaste for dogs, because it's too "frothy" and difficult for the dog to remove.
(I mean, my dog's pretty clever - but she can't rinse and spit from a tumbler yet ) You're absolutely right that with a bit of patience and plenty of praise, cleaning a dog's teeth is possible. However, I would recommend getting a toothpaste that is specially formulated for dogs...............it's usually poultry flavoured rather than freshmint!! |

Aah, Sam's a lovely looking dog - and he looks so at home already :)
He's a lucky boy to have found you and your family. I'm sure he will bring you years of friendship and happiness. Do you know, I was thinking of starting a thread about all of us Sams on here!! There are so many of us - both human and canine - we seem such a common lot! Anyway, please tell your Sam (in English, Castellano or Valenciano!) that he's gorgeous ;) All the best, from yet another Sam! I have never really been a "doggy person" but seeing all those abandoned dogs last week was so sad. OH said when he retires he is going to set up a dogs place so he can take them all in  Think my Sam will have a personality complex before long, for some reason I keep calling him Ben, my son calls him Max and OH has started calling him Dobby ( from Harry Potter - who he does actually look like with his floppy ears ) |
