As far as I'm aware when they took it over they had it either rent free or low rent. Presumably that has ended and they are not making enough to cover the full rent, who knows.

I see that the other hotels are 120k€ and 42k€ respectively. Almost as cheap to buy an hotel as a house

It was rent - free .. for a while, and yes its clear that the income generated by the current 'strategy' would not support any increased costs this year.
As sad as I am to hear of us losing one of the few places we have in CE - it comes as no surprise.
A certain resto owner in MF has expressed interest, previously - perhaps someone should whisper in his ear..... and at the same time explain all the history and problems etc.
What a shame..... lets hope from the seeds of failure some enterprising person can make this work as there is a potential money making opportunity for a thick skinned resto/cafe/bar professional... with the right formula (IMO)
I still feel the place above the shop is also an ideal location for something special, but interest in that died years ago, after someone invested a bunch on what looked like AV equipment - we went/sneaked in to look at all the work and had a good nose around
I also spoke to a well known estate agent who was selling it and visiting it at the time. Though this would put pressure on the shop I still feel that for the benefit of CE as a whole it would be great to get this place up and running.... and it would be a different business as well.
Years go by and little happens......

It appears that nothing will survive there with the constant relentless complaining that goes on. Esuri needs more places not less.

My oh my ,this was the first time I visited the Martinsa Fadesa liquidation site.I was amazed at the price of apartments in Esuri. Things are not improving ,not that I am looking to sell but it would be nice if property increased slightly.

At least the GC is a much improved place - as Ive mentioned previously, and the 'local' the shop is buzzing and fun....
Lets see what happens over time... as I agree we need MORE in CE.

:-) you misread it Jon, I was not referring to you but who ever it is that seems determined to scupper business in that building.
