Certainly a better quality of life that the UK, as we realised on our first trip back, much more relaxed and laid back here, which certainly suits us.

Has he a real title or one of those that can be bought of ebay for fun for about £20.00
I bet you got a lot of joy from doing your house. We bought a house that needed renovating however even though i got a lot of joy from it i was bloody glad to see the back of it when we sold it.
After we renovated it things then started going wrong with it, i think the thing was cursed. It was empty for 4 years before we bought it and no-one was ever interested in it in the 4 years it was on the market before we bought it.

Also getting clothes to fit, the sizes here marked M, L, XL etc dont correspond with UK markings, and they also vary from shop to shop, and particularly on market stalls where they sometimes mark them as XXXXXXL, not sure what size base they use.

That is what we are hoping for a little bit more laid back. Our life's here are always on the go that we do not find time to spend with each other as we are always running around doing bit's for everyone else.
I will be going to debenhams to buy loads of clothes before we go as the sizes are smaller in Spain as i found out last time we was there.
I am very apprehensive on learning the language as i just to not understand it, no matter how many times i listen to a tape it is not registering in my head.
We also know financially it will be very tough as at the moment we have a comfortable income and there it is going to be cut to maybe a quarter of what we have here :scared:
Good job i am not that in to material things.
Is there anything you do miss about the uk?

we still left the new owners two empty brick built sheds, a big garage and two ex RAF dog kennels, so they had plenty of storage area. Next year when we go back for a couple of weeks, we hope to go out and look at what has been done to it. Since we left it has gained it's own page in Wikipedia.
It was only a humble ex farm cottage (well two made into one) when we left it :scared: and most of the 'original features' were added, in the last 20 years, by me
Talk about the new owner having delusions of grandeur.

What was you doing to the build up of moving to spain?

Stressing out big time because we were supposed to be out there at the end of October and still haven't got word that we can move in! Apparently the place is ready (bought off-plan) and we can move in as soon as the place is registered with the Town Hall....which we have now been told won't happen before March......why March????? What about January and February??? Been having exchanges of e-mails with the agents we are buying from and, of course, everything has stopped for Christmas and the New Year!!!
Decided to fly over for a two week holiday in January and to see what is happening. So, hopefully, will have better news to report after our holiday. Meantime we are surrounded by boxes which have been packed since October!
You are going to be there before us....hope all goes well for you.

Where is ojen? Is that near by.
Apparently a lot of english move in to the area but i have heard that a lot of them have normally gone back to the uk within the year. As they find it hard getting work or just find it is not as easy as what they thought it would be.
I am quite lucky as we are moving near my best friend so i have got someone in Spain who can help me out, which is great as i know a lot of people have no-one.
How do you find living in Spain?
