4 in a bed.

Just watched channel 4, 4 in a bed, it is featuring British owners in Spain,it tonight it was a small hotel in Benidorm run by a man who had a sex change 30 odd years ago and is now a woman, (being diplomatic and I dont want to put the wrong techincal description here and have a pubic slapping).:D

The place was 30 odd guest place, rooms a bit grubby, it seemed that the most important aspect of the place was the entertainment, with emphasis on the sequin and feather type acts.

Tomorrow the hosts are 2 gay men, with a swimming pool and the guests have been informed that bathing suits are optional.

The week winner will be announced either tomorrow or Friday, not sure which.

Did anyone else see it, or has anyone ever stayed in the Queens Hotel Benidorm?

Re: 4 in a bed.

I'm watching it but haven't seen tonight's yet as can't get channel 4 direct here.

Last week they were in France and there were some real characters in those episodes too..... including a bloke who couldn't see the point of learning French and hated French food

I like the half hour of mindless TV while I change the bed and tidy up or whatever. I like watching the different people and their different homes .... and some of them are awful and some of the comments are too catty for words.

From Monday to Thursday they do the B&B sleepovers. On Friday they meet up and question the comments cards and see how much they have been paid - and then the winner is announced. It's a scream.

I am astounded that you have not been deported out of Italy yet.

I knew a lot of Italians in the UK, and they were dragged out of bed a silly oclock in the morning, so that mama could make the bed, because it was a huge disgrace to have unmade beds after 8am.

A bit like some of the Spanish Mary Goodwives I know here.

I know a guy in Galicia who has retired after 50 years of getting up ad 6am, but his shrew of wife insists that he gets up at the same time as before, so that she can make the bed.

OCD or what?

 None of my beds are made before 8am. I leave the house at 7.50 to get the kids to school and then I come home and have another cup of tea.
I'm not running a B&B though - thank God. I don't have time to dust the pictures every day in case somebody runs their sticky fingers over the frame

What is 8.00am?

I don't normally wake up before 9.00am at the earliest, and the bed gets made when I feel like it, after I've had breakfast and a shower, and the room has been aired. Best not tell my Spanish neighbours or my reputation will be shot.

Who cares - is my motto. Sometimes on a cold day I get my cup of tea and get right back into my bed to read or watch some English TV.
Will have to be more careful next time I take a fried egg sandwich back to bed though. Egg yolk is not a good look on an ivory quilt cover :eek:

Not my type of viewing at all, but someone gave a heads up on an Andalucian forum earlier in the week, as yesterday it was in Herradura.
So I saw yesterday's as I know Herradura, and decided I wouldn't want to stay with any of that lot.;) Well, maybe the young couple seemed OK, but the gays and sex change guy/girl not my cup of tea. (probably have the forum gay police after me now) and yesterday's couple were, as someone described them, OTT. Four till six on a Wednesday is my Spanish tertulia, so missed today's. Wife said I didn't miss anything. :D

I ran a business in Benidorm for three years and consider myself unshockable because of it. I loved my time there, despite some hairy moments.

You can mock people with strange habits, but, seriously, at the end of the day, you're the strange one, an intolerant fool whose knowledge of the world is limited to the brothers Grimm.

The trouble with turning men into women, even after they've cut the offending bits off, is the need for razors, not ladyshaves, but strong ones, the ones that men use.

Yes not a program I would normally watch, but twenty year ago I stayed at La Tartana.
We had an absolutely brilliant time for all the wrong reasons.
It made Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz

Well, lets start from the beginning, men being turned into women.

I don't have a problem with it, you obviously do, I wonder why?

I merely pointed out to you that I considered your views to be wrong, behind the times, ignorant too. I'll stick with it, you don't know what you're f****** talking about.

Sex in mid air could be risky, but not as risky as sex alone with chains and padlocks as this poor guy found out.
He wasnt found for days, it all went horribly wrong, what a way to go.

Tell me something, where do have the right to to tell me I am wrong and that you are right.... at the moment YOU seem to be the loud mouthed bigot.

Just who gave you and where did you get the right to do that? A GOD?.....a court?.... public opinion? LAW?
"merely pointed out" and I quote your own words To be honest, I don't give a flying f*** what you think. is absolute rubbish. It was inflamatory, uneeded and proves you are what I suspect you are.

do I ? where do you get that from?

no. you were obnoxious , insulting and nasty..... probably too dense to make your views slighty above the level of the
product of brother and sister pregnancy.....

Tell me something? what makes YOU an expert on what is "behind the times" while your working that one out, spare a few moments to to look up the word ignorant..... then look in a mirror

you might also want to consider that you may actually overload the system with your constant use of foul language.... but that is probably beyond the thought capacity available to you

Allow me to point out something to you, somethhing you might not be aware of, Just because someone doesn't support you personal views, it does not make them wrong. It's a matter of choice, a choice our Fathers and Grandfathers fought wars and died for, to defend!

If a man wants to become a "woman"..... their right.... do I have to like it? it's my choice!!!!! Mine and mine alone!

For goodness sake the two of you stop being so childish or I will send you off to your separate bedrooms. Can we get back to the programme please.

I am really enjoying it. I like Julia as a person but her hotel is the pits. If three couples say they wouldn´t return because of the cleanliness, shouldn´t that set alarm bells ringing.

Never seen the prog so I don't have a clue what it's all about, but if the agro its stirred up on here is anything to go by, it seems that 4 in a bed is not such a good idea.
I mean 2s company,
3s a crowd,
but 4 just don't bear thinking about,...
Well not at my age anyway,....but I've seen the day. ;)

Re: 4 in a bed.

I had never watched it previously, but having seen it mentioned elsewhere that this week was based in Spain I decided to have a peek.

The first place run by the young couple was by far the best up to now. I would consider staying there if we were in that area.

The 2nd place run by the "posh" couple was far too OTT & I feel that I would never get tired of slapping either of them.

The Benidorm place run by the transexual looked like fun if you like somewhere cheap & lively. But not for me. :o

I can't wait for the last one.:D

The original series was good. They have gone to extremes, a bit OTT and turned it into another Jeremy Kyle / Big Brother type programme.

Especially if there are any gays involved, it get some members all excited. (pun intended).

This thread makes the gay marriage thread seem sensible and polite:rofl:

Have only seen the Benidorm one, will catch up on the rest another time. Dreadful place but I thought the owner came across as a really nice person. The gays I know are too posh to stay there:)

So I've heard, quite often two at each end.

Expect they all needed a clothes peg each on their noses.

Re: 4 in a bed.

I missed the first 2 episodes but saw the Benidorm one and the Lorca one. The young couple seem fine and assuming they have a decent place we would both be happy to stay with them. The older couple are a nightmare, so far up their own backsides and lacking any humour. We would find staying with them dire even if they have the Ritz of B&B. Benidorm just isn't our cup of tea and it did seem a bit on the grubby side but Julia seems a good sort. Yesterdays place was lovely and they guys very welcoming and would definitely be happy to stay there. Thought it was funny though that they were promoting clothes optional around the pool yet had the woodburner going full blast.
I thought the breakfast fuss was a bit silly.

Depends if they continue taking hormones, this encourages breast growth and can put an end to whiskers.
