Hi,
I am looking to go over to Malaga for 2 weeks to get a feel for the place, and top see what business opportunities might be available. (I do computers)
What would be a cheap accommodation option , for just myself.. male 50 years old.
I don't fancy backpacking hostels...
Are there any small b&b's etc ...It's only really going to be somewhere to sleep.
Any ideas of prices... or would a month rent work out cheaper....if there is such a thing.
Don't mind caravan parks etc
Many Thanks
Liam

Month rentals exist but are likely to be more expensive than longer-term, obviously. Have you looked at Air BnB? If you're thinking about work in IT, have you got any thoughts yet as to how you would pitch your work? Do you speak fluent Spanish? Just a few questions to think about. Malaga is a wonderful city and I believe from what I'm told that opportunities do still exist in IT but you need to do your homework. Hence what you're doing here, of course!

Hola & Thanks Fiona,
I've had a look for accommodation - camping at £33 a night *phew*
and 6 bed dorms at £10 a night.
( I'll have a look at airbnb too,
It looks very good ! Thank you
www.airbnb.co.uk/s/Málaga--Spain?price_max=13 )
Another option, is to drive over, and do some car camping, (and/or wild camping) as an adventure ! (Stopping off at The Netherlands, Germany etc)
Tbh, the £50 cheap holiday to Malaga, is starting to get more like £500+
& I'm thinking I may be wiser, work wise, to try WestJet deals to Canada, or try my hand at N.Z.
ps, I can do tutorials, repairs, web design, e-commerce, mainframe programming etc ...
(and also repairs to mobility scooters, cars, bikes, mopeds, white goods, cctv etc ) ..so I'm pretty flexible... but I hear being self employed is a nightmare for costs !
Thanks for replying
... I'll have a think of what to do..
ps have you seen that Skype translates speech to Spanish and back , in real time !
&
New in-ear device could be the beginning of a world without language barriers | ExtremeTech
& of course , apps on smart phones
Ciao 4 now

Try Holiday-Spain or AlquilaHomes. I have had a few very cheap holidays in Malaga and surrounds. There are a few mobility hire places there too

Thanks Maur-Ross,
I'll have a look

Spain Holiday - Holiday villas, apartments and cottages for rent all across Spain
AlquilaHome - Holiday Home, Apartments, Flats And Houses in whole Spain - Long Term Rentals Málaga
Just as a half-thought, to myself..
I wonder how much property is over there..
cheap and cheerful , out of town.
Cheers

If you are on Facebook have a look at a group called Expats in Malaga City - quite a helpful lot on there and someone there may be able to help you
