Default Tips for living in high floor

Hi

I have never lived in a flat higher than 5th floor. I just wonder what should I beware of when living in higher floor.

Is it very windy or do the building sway a bit during typhoon season as I have heard friends who lived in high building in Hong Kong warned me? What necessary things should we ask the estate agent re living in higher floor?

Many thanks

The only thing I can think of is you'll love how breezy it will be. In Singapore's hot, humid climate you'll love it!

Actually - if you have kids - also make sure when you view any units that you check whether the windows have locks or at least inhibitors to stop them being fully opened. You'd be surprised how many of the condos here have fully opening windows with no inhibitors - even on high floors. I know they're necessary for escape but they're terrifying when you have young kids!

Many thanks for all your practical, life-saving and therapeutic advice. I wonder if the Singaporean estate agents appreciate the same sense of humour that we do. Haha. I have to open a new thread to check it out.

Thanks. Have a nice weekend.
