Some are saying it'll work others it won't.
Also apparently Johor will increase min purchase price for ex pats to MYR one million.

All the new builds are over RM 1 million anyway but there are older properties - like the one we're renting just now - which were being sold for around RM 500,000 - they'll be off limits to foreigners now.

hello, I'm in negotiation with a potential employer in singapore, and i was wondering whether the rents in singapore are expected to increase sensibly in the following 2 years, should that be considered in the negotiation of the expat package? many thanks.

Rental contracts are usually for 2 years with a break out clause after 14 months.
So once you've signed on the dotted then you are locked in for the period you mention unless you've really made the wrong choice.
