Only you can really be the judge of the situation.
But generally kids can fit into a new environment easier than their parents.
Perhaps him settling in to a new situation at a school (in UK?) and then moving after a short time to a school elsewhere may be difficult for a month or so but for me if you decide to move I wouldn't make it a big issue with him just take it as normal and don't fuss with him.
Presumably he's been going to a pre school in the UK???

Thanks so much for your reply! He's just started his 2nd year of primary and is struggling to adjust, he attended pre-school prior to primary and loved every minute.
If we decide to Make the move it would probably be beginning of next year
You're right it will be how we approach it with him.
I have a lot of research to do on schools...throwing him the deep end in a great big international school would terrify him, and a small class size would help.
Thanks for your help, I will get reading more threads on schooling

I don't mind you jumping in, I am planning on homeschooling myself for the couple of years we will be out there, but the change of support structure has also worried me. I have tried to make it the children's decision as much as possible by having 'guided' chats about what they would want if they lived in another country and what would worry them and trying to answer questions. mentioning things like Sykpe etc. I am going along the explorer route, new animals. My husband currently is out of the house from 6:30 am till 7:30pm so playing the daddy will be home more card. Hope that's of some help

Thanks so much for the tips Flibjib!
Thank god for Skype it makes distance so much easier!
Looks like it'll be a sleepless few nights while we research and decide whether its the right route to go down.
It is reassuring to know there's lots of people going through the same!
