Hi,
We are looking at apartment complexes and notice the listings all mention TOP year - assume it is year of completion but not 100% sure.
Would like a place with utilities included (including unlimited broadband) simply for ease. Are some landlords open to an all-inclusive rent system? Rent will be paid by my husband's company - so this should appeal to landlords as less risky than an individual...
Office will be Jurong West, any suggestions for complexes appreciated. As he will be in Singapore alone 80% of the time, commute to work and proximity to a good street food centre will be important. Also, he plans to take furniture - will this complicate the search? We've used our own things in Tokyo and Beijing and much prefer it to the generic stuff and rock hard mattresses in furnished places.
Any suggestions for negotiating, scams, what to check for when looking at apts, questions to ask, etc. greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any advice,
Liz

TOP, Temporary Occupation Permit, means you can move in whether owner or lessee. All the Gov paperwork may not be complete but don't worry about that.
Taking furniture won't complicate the search just change what is avilablewith some landlords it may be possible for them to remove their furniture.
BB and utilities may be included, everything is negotiable. The landlord or you may want it included in the lease documents though so his employer may spot it and ask questions, I know I would.
But BB at less than S$50 per month for a 100Mbps download speed is hardly worth worrying over.
I get free BB with my Star Hub Hubstation which I use for TV, 200 channels. It's only 1 Mbps but I can get everything I need even watch youtube, UK TV etc etc with no buffering
