yeah, we kept the instruction booklet for the dvd (strange for us really!) however no mention at all about what country. On the front cover of the booklet, it has the make, model and United Kingdom on it, no mention inside or on the menu for changing the country
never mind !

but......will the uk digibox work in Australia once re-tuned?

when we bought the digibox over here, when we selected 'scan' on the menu, it automatically picked up all the channels here, so i imagine the uk one would be the same, however i know nothing about tvs etc other than how to turn them on and change channels
im sure one of the resident experts here will keep you right, good luck

I just bought a LITEON DVD recorder and that will play anywhere, in the system menu it actually lists Australia.

No seriously yes TV's Video recorders and players and DVD players and recorders. Most of the cheaper makes will be able to do most systems as they cant afford to make them region specific. The more expensive the unit sometimes the less areas it will be compatible with as the software is specifically designated for one area i.e PAL / I.
Dont forget all dvd players and recoders are programmed to be region specific. THAT IS THE LAW> but certain websites give you the code to make them region free as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I also have a Liteon DVD recorder
and the first thing I did was make it multi-region. Have checked one of our TV's and that says it is BG. So that is promising...Only the widescreen one to check now. Knowing our luck it will be the one we have to end up using for the PS2/Gamecube/X-box
