It's OMIP, the Oregon State High Risk Pool, and they say policies can only start on the 1st of each month. It;s pushing it anyway as I need to establish residency too :(

Thanks guys - Go Walkabout is great but I need something that covers me for about two days longer - I arrive on the 8th of Jan and standard health insurance should kick in on the 1st of Feb

I've had a look at that HIPAA letter model - thank you! Just a bit confused as to how to figure it out re NHS.

I'm already on the generic of my drug, maybe that's more common over here, so should be nice and cheap.

i didn't really like the blue cross one - so I've emailed Providence asking them. Otherwise I'll go with OMIP

Yeah, they cover Corvallis, Salem and Portland by the looks of things.

There seem to be LOADS of providers, and the Providence "tick box" doesn't seem to mean anything according to the agent on...

Well, I've emailing asking them about out-of-pocket, non "providence" providers, and out-of area.

As for the faith stuff, I'm not really bothered. I'm not really planning on needing an abortion...

They say they will as long as I've had creditable coverage, otherwise there's a 6-month waiver period which I can deal with.

I've looked at the find a doctor section.

Unfortunately, Travel insurance won't work unless I return to Britain.

I'm beginning to get really worried.
