Regina might be cold, but I believe it's a relatively nice place.

There are some positives: At least it doesn't snow as much as the East Coast.

It's less common for people to commute from High River into Calgary than Okotoks (if you end up working in Calgary), although people do. For one thing, housing is a bit cheaper in High River.

The impression I got, is that these are very nice communities, with nice looking houses.
However, it is suburban, and most people need to jump in their cars to take a trip to the grocery store, etc....

I would definably choose Cochrane. Better geography, closer to the mountains, more space, less cookie-cutter "suburbia" feel.

Okotoks just feels like an extension of Calgary - and not in a good...

I agree, knowing someone is definately a big help, but it's certainly possible to get a good job without a networking connection.

Also, it's pretty easy to get frustrated while unemployeed and job...
