Re: I-751: Did you include affadavits and how important are they?

I don't think it's any dumber than having an argument about what the dumbest argument to have on this board is. :D

PS: or having an argument about having an argument about whether to have an...

Re: I-751: Did you include affadavits and how important are they?

But consider this: if your 5 friends agree to conspire with you and type up affidavits with their SSN, DOB, CC #, maiden name, and computer passwords... then they certainly can do that. Putting a...

Re: I-751: Did you include affadavits and how important are they?

In her I-751 app, my wife included one affidavit from a married couple who we're friends with. In my very unprofessional and personal opinion, affidavits are weak evidence for your marriage...

Re: I-751 biometrics - no receipt received because of USCIS mistake

Re: Heads up - Federal Offices will be closed

Well here's an update. Againt the advice of this board, my dearest wife went to her ASC appointment today anyway. And... the office was fully open! She got her pics taken and all was well.

Re: new fee for I-751 application

Well, I'll add our I-751 experience to this thread...

Wife mailed in her I-751 with the old fee on Dec 1 and, according to the receipt notice, it was officially received on Dec 5. The check was...

Re: i-751 wrong form? green card exp feb 2007 help please

Hoefully this will ease your mind: my wife just filed her I-751 with the $205 fee and mailed it on December 1 and it was officially received on December 5. She got a proper notice of receipt and the...

We found all the guards, employees, and...

Re: OT: Filing taxes as a green card holder

I've never heard of such a thing as putting a written "declaration" in your tax return. Why isn't it sufficient enough to use your SSN and file a 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ? I do know that if you file...

Re: Married Mexican woman who overstayed tourist visa. Advice on adjustment of status?

It's going to be a tough (and unnecessary) battle to get those fees waived and prove that you can support your wife at the same time. I guess it's natural for people to want to get the fees waived...

Re: After applying I-485 questions

Once she gets her permenant resident card (should happen easily within 2-3 years), she'll be able to work with no other documents required (except a SSN).

Re: After applying I-485 questions

It's not absolutely necessary, but it's highly recommended. In your wife's case, I'd do it simply to get her a SSN and a possibly a driver's license so that she'll be able to operate freely in the...
