To add, convictions are never spent for the purposes of immigration and those that are spent show up you ACPO check as 'No Live Trace' meaning there is an old conviction. DIAC do not use CRB checks...

IMO it would be best to do the PGCE in the UK. It is recognised though you would still have to be assessed and registered in the state you want to live even if not using your skills to get the visa. ...
