Re: Temporary uk internet

Australia has always been odd over its sim cards!

Re: Non-European/Non-British Passport Holders require ETA from 8th Jan 2025

Re: Rain yesterday

Doesn't surprise me at all. We often had similar "idiots" to deal with - many of them in government or councils, and should know better!

I was...

Re: Taking the plunge!

Moved back to Brighton (well, Hove actually!) last year after 19 years in Australia. I came over a few months before to check out how things had changed and which areas I wanted to look at, and one...

Re: Rain yesterday

Always used to puzzle us at work back in Australia. We would be sending out warnings of "Threat to life" due to a tsunami" yet people would rush to the beach, wanting to watch the waves. Warnings of...

I admit to playing a bit of devil's advocate here, and please just see this as objective comments.
I've worked with floods like this for many years, issuing warnings to councils, rescue workers,...

Re: UK State Pension and Voluntary Contributions

I always thought that too, but it does now look as if you can make payments AFTER you've started claiming the pension.

You may pay voluntary contributions after you claim your pension but your...

Re: UK Tax on Australian Super?

Re: Rain yesterday

They're really stuck between a rock and a hard place in situations like this. If the Royals and top politicians don't turn up, they are accused of not caring, if they do turn up they get abused....

Also bear in mind that not every visa class...
