I suppose you could give up, it depends how much you want it. Sure it's stressful, lot's of things in life are but if we gave up at every hurdle then not much would ever get done.

Hi, I live near the delightful industrial haven of Scunthorpe. What with it's plumes of orange smoke and the smell of sulphur eminating from the sprawling steel works it sometimes makes me wonder why...

I think if they require you to achieve 6 in each band, it is unlikely they will accept you with 5.5. That's if I have understood your post correctly.

I wouldn't worry too much, it took them about eight weeks to cofirm receiving mine. I think quite a few others had a similar wait too.

I know the waiting is hard, but don't some of you guys think you might be leaving yourselves open to a MASSIVE disappointment. I have been waiting for nearly ten weeks now and not a word, no request...

Just recieved an email today acknowledging receipt of my application. It says they received it on the 7th April. I sent it end of March.
It also says : "As a guide applications are processed...

I have just tracked my application sent with FedEx, it shows as being delivered on Monday but I have not received a confirmation email as of yet.
