Re: UK Pound v's Euro

Using Nationwide card (not credit) to draw cash doesn't incur any commission, explicit or hidden. It's a unique deal unmatched by anyone else AFAIK.

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

If you've lived in Germany, you must know how messed up and over-regulated its economy is. There's been no visible growth for ages, at least in the West.

The trouble with Europe and the euro is...

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

Only if they were cut by more than expected. If it's as expected or less, it should strengthen.

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

Thanks for the link.

I think that in Portugal booms and busts are less sharp than in the US or UK. It's a socialist country, like France, Germany etc. The economy is stifled by high taxes and...

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

There's nothing worse than a stagnation. A crisis is better because it prompts a reform while stagnation delays it.

And so is Germany - click on the link in the post above.

It served the UK...

It's been pretty much in the state of permanent stagnation since the re-unification. I haven't seen...

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

The interest rates in both the UK and Euro zone will soon end up dropping to zero or a symbolic 0.25%. In fact, they should be there now.

The European central bank has more self-important bums...

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

Absolutely, unless you want to be perfect and wait until the pound bottoms out. Obviously it's impossible to tell when exactly that is going happen.

Re: UK Pound v's Euro

It depends on by how much they go down. If it's no more than the markets expect (1%) then the pound will strengthen. If it's more than 1% it will drop. That's because the exchange rate at the...
