Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Go on, try talking to your family. They seem like nice people, right?

Sorry, but too late, I've already shown him the door. Quite how a man gets to his age and still thinks that every foreign...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Oh good grief. Post no 378, 'your barmy'. Post no 371, 'your 30/50 years out out date'. Etc, etc.

I'm English, and in the UK.

Oh, and 'your' trolling yet again, and 'your' banned. Take...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Gosh, you really are a cheery, upbeat soul aren't you? Don't let these guys yolks get you down, they're just milking your dairy obsession but really eggsellent people.

Oh, and it's 'you're', not...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

You're several years out of date (and even then I was living in a village rather than a town like Amersham/Chalfonts, 5 miles from the nearest supermarket).

I'm far more rural than that now. ...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Do you think I live in the middle of a city or something?! Based on an average walking pace of 2-3mph, it would take me approx 3 hours to get to my nearest supermarket (the majority of which would...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

I would say that's quite unusual actually, unless you're a single person living in a town. There's no way I could carry all of my family's groceries for a weekly shop, even if I did live within...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

You've tried the banks that the Wiki says will let you open an account prior to arrival? If so, we need to change that info if it's no longer correct.

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Except most people I know get free grocery deliveries. And the cost of the car insurance in Canada would equate to the supermarket shop drive a thousand times over compared to UK insurance prices....

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Ah. I saw 'if you buy 2 litres it is 66p' and read that as 66p for 2l (not unreasonably I don't think!). In which case, the milk maths is just fine and I can't afford to drive to the supermarket or...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

What exchange rate are you looking at?!?

66p x 2 = £1.32 for 4L.

£1.32 at today's exchange rate = $2.45

Not to rain on your milk parade (or God forbid, give Graham the raging...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Erm..............

You certainly have insulted other forum members, and that's not on.

You need to treat other forum members (and their opinions - which they're perfectly entitled to) with...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Are you this socially inept in real life?

Would you walk into a pub, start bellowing your opinions and insisting they're right, ignoring that others have the right to an opinion too and insulting...

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

I don't think it's long at all in NS, certainly not compared to the 1-2 years in BC or AB anyway! Figure about 8-12 weeks if processing times are normal.

Good luck.

Re: Potentially moving to Halifax, NS

Have you included tax on that?

For London visa office? Yes, that's correct, but that's for the Federal app (i.e. all provinces, not specific to NS).

You can keep an eye on PNP processing times here - Processing times for provincial nominee applications (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp)

But when you get to...

So to sum up the last few pages that I had missed until now (a) it seems the troops from NS have been rallied via Facebook...
