Re: UK aint so bad!

I think if you read my post again you will see that I said that "some days it's fine - hardly anything to complain about, but other days they just come out in force". This doesn't really equate to...

Re: UK aint so bad!

I do think Southerncross has a point though - it's isn't Australian to complain about anything is it? And we are in Australia. So really we should just all smile sweetly and pretend that there are no...

Re: UK aint so bad!

I live in Melbourne and some days it's fine - hardly anything to complain about, but other days they just come out in force! One day we were out on the golf course and we were overrun with the...

Re: UK aint so bad!

You are so right here - so many of us get sucked into all the media hype about how bad the UK is, but as I've said before, how does it actually affect our day to day life? We do have so much to be...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Ah the Lakes - we used to go for day trips quite a lot and then always for a few days break just before Christmas each year. Beautiful hotel overlooking the lake, with lovely big Chesterfields around...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Hi Kapri - it's not really a case of not liking Melbourne, as the city itself is really lovely, plenty to see and do, loads of shops, restaurants etc. The bayside area where we live is so nice (but a...

Re: UK aint so bad!

West Yorks is lovely. I think that because I come from St Helens which is a pretty grotty place, I just would like to live somewhere nice. Looking back now I think that we should have tried other...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Thanks for that - whenever we've been further down south it has always been warmer but I really hadn't thought it would make such a big difference. I'll certainly be looking into it now. Just wish...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Hi there creature - we are about to move back to the UK and I'm from the NW. Just how much nicer is the weather further down south? We'll have to stay put for a few years as our girls are at college...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Quite right and at least you can go for long doggie walks in the UK. Here in Melbourne dogs are banned from many places :(

Re: UK aint so bad!

So true. While I do understand that constant grey low cloud can get you down and depressed, it's mind over matter. We never stayed inside due to bad weather in the UK - what's the point? You just sit...
