Re: Public or Private Health Care?

There seems to be a mix of people from England in this country, but I must admit, most of the expats I have met have been quite well off. Mostly University educated and able to flourish here.
Not...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Your story about elderly care in UK is a bit too familiar.
My Mrs has allways been the one to get a better paying job, quicker, here in the US as a RN.
Sounds like our roles would be reversed in...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Sounds like America is working well for you. Glad to hear it.

I think people moan and complain here because Americans dont like to hear moaning and complaining.
I also like to moan and...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

I'm not convinced that the UK is cheaper to live in than the US.....yet!
Why would so many people move over here in the first place?
What appears is that, over recent history, the US has become...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

I recently saw a WWW thingy which compared the income taxes of EU nations and the US. Point of which was to bring attention to the fact that in the US we pay the least in income taxes.
The US tax...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Why not? There is nothing wrong with the US health care system. It is fair and even and everyone can have care taken of them if they really need it. ;)

Have you heard this argument? I am STILL...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Glad to say we agree. :)
24/7 is what she has in Bath. Nowadays, it seems we have to be money management experts to pull off looking after our parents when they need more than breakfast and a bed....

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Not being a US resident, she couldn't get ANY health care assitance in the US. Residency would have taken too long for her age and frailty, so in the end the decision was made to "send her back". She...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Our Nan is 86 and living in a home in England. We tried to get her over here, but the system was set against her (medically). With the sale of her house and all life's savings put together, she has...

Re: Public or Private Health Care?

Well, if you were to break a leg, you'd probably come out of it with just the one arm and an expensive cast for your only remaining leg.

All I know is private health ins. for a family is about...
