Thanks for that, Bob. I'll try to get a copy here in Wellington - do you have any reference for the edition that has the introduction to the characters?

I'll second "The Colour" by Rose Tremain - although she got a lot of stick for a Brit writing about NZ - and there is one big faux pas in the book - I forget what... something to do with NZ...

Yes, there are bookgroups here but I've not been to any - Roger Hall wrote a very funny play called "The Book Club", I think, which we saw at Circa Theatre in Wellington a few years ago.
