Thanks that was in 2005 when we came over on a visit. There wasn't anything wrong with the glasses she got just I saw this thread and remembered what had gone on at that time. She has had an eye...

My wife has astigmatism so I guess that is what the optician was doing when they said they...

Well the optician said he couldn't give the British prescription to the lens maker because they would not be made correctly, unless he changed it. Which he did and no he didn't charge to do so.

The values are different in the US then the UK.

Before we moved over my wife had a UK prescription filled in the US when we came over on a visit. She claimed it would be cheaper and liked the US...
