Having gone through the effort of getting Nexus cards, I do not want to risk losing them by doing something which is " against the rules " however seemingly trivial

Thanks for that. Presumably they will maintain manned Nexus kiosks? We have used the auto kiosks and they work well but I assume we have to speak to a CBSA officer if I'm over the limit of $800....
