Relief and congratulations! It will feel good when it arrives in your hands in the UK (strongly suggest using an international courier, like DHL, FEDEX etc.).

I wouldnt call it 'automatic' as it is still a pretty manual process. Your stamped original CoPR is mailed to the centre that deals with PR card issue (Halifax?).

If you leave Canada before you have your new PR card, you have only three ways of getting back into Canada:

1. Wait for your PR Card to be delivered to your address in Canada and have a friend...

All I can tell you is that mine arrived at my buddy's residential address in Canada and came in the normal mail and did not require a signature.

As FL said, no.

You have plenty of time yet, ours took about one month more than thier quoted turnaround times to arrive, factor in the Christmas staff and mail slowdown as well.

We didnt. They used the photos supplied with the sponsorship application. Mind you, the pr card took 90 days to arrive (from date of landing to receipt).
