general bars in Spain will have bottles of Spanish brandy, Scots whisky, but NEVER a French Brandy.
you may be able to get in some of the more upmarket hotels but not in general bars.

Understood that rather than letting you take out your own utility contracts (as in UK) most landlords will pay the bills and charge on to the renter - is that the case ??
